Beech is a large beautiful deciduous tree, very common in Europe. It symbolizes tolerance and lightness, which reflects in the properties of this versatile wood.
One of the most popular hardwoods, it is light in colour with fine tight grain and even texture, and although it is very heavy and hard it can be worked on easily and bend, therefore it is an attractive choice for furniture material.
Beech is not recommended to be used for outdoor furniture as it is relatively absorbent and should be protected from water and damp. Its’ widespread availability makes it a commonly used cost effective hardwood.
